Bus services provide a vital part of our local transport network. Ten new showcase corridors (also know as the Greater Bristol Bus Network) have now been officially launched across the West of England Partnership area to deliver substantial improvements in the quality of bus services.

Watch the video or read read a brochure highlighting the work that has been done across the area.

To celebrate the launch of these improvements, 40 bus shelters across the region have been creatively dressed. Why not take a look and enter our competition? (Closed 27 April)

These ten corridors serve a wide network of bus services with over 60 different services benefiting from the improvements. home

Generically the scheme can be defined as a 'bus showcase' network comprising a range of measures that will improve the speed, reliability, comfort and image of conventional bus travel across the area. These new corridors will complement two showcase corridors that have already been taken forward: the north-south Henbury and Hartcliffe corridor which was completed in December 2003 and the east-west A420 corridor which completed in 2008.

Due to the cross boundary nature of this project the scheme is being promoted by the four councils of Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol City, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire, working with bus operator First
